Witherspoon's Holiday Gift Guide

Witherspoon's Holiday Gift Guide

My daughter knew my friend Wendy was famous even before she actually became famous. I’ve known Wendy for years and so when my daughter would see her name or hear me talking about her, she would say, “Oh, she’s famous!” I never corrected my daughter when she would say this but I think she was mixing up Wendy with Reese Witherspoon. Which in her defense, is very easy to do! Both of them are adorable and both are savvy business women!

Wendy Witherspoon has been a business woman for many years but in 2010, after having three daughters, she started a sales career with Stella & Dot. She has made top sales consultant many times ever since. In fact, just this November 2018, she made Top #7 in sales. Wendy helps women all over Minnesota and beyond with their styling needs. She’s so good at what she does that it seems like every other month she’s earned a trip to somewhere fun. In other words, she’s a Stella & Dot Boss! And if that doesn’t keep her busy enough, in 2015 Wendy opened Prink Style (Prink which means “to dress oneself finely”). She wanted to honor and celebrate the many styles that each of her daughters have when it comes to fashion because their choices are unique and constantly evolving. Prink Style is a company that curates clothes of many styles and offers subscriptions for customized clothing choices targeted for tweens and teens sizes 7-16. Wendy has become a reliable source who empowers many girls, teenagers and women (for Stella & Dot) who are getting comfy within their own styles. She is very sweet, practical and most of all, she knows her audience. Speaking of audiences, Wendy is a regular contributor for the local TV show Twin Cities Live where she offers styling & shopping tips and advice.

Long story not very short - Wendy is the friend who asked me if I would be putting together a holiday gift guide!!! Can you see why I am so giddy with excitement to share Wendy’s contribution on Thoughtful Pinch? Here’s what she shared with me. I added my own spin to each item below.

If you don’t have your own Stella & Dot consultant, please consider clicking on the items below to be directed to Wendy’s site. The shipping deadline is 12/14/18 so decide what you’re going to get soon!

For Mom: 1. There are five patterns for “Getaway Totes” one for you and every other mom that you may want to pinch. 2. I’m not from the south but my kids call me “Mama” so I love this necklace! Besides, I love it when mothers affectionately refer to others as mamas. 3. There are three colors offered for the comfy and ever helpful Addy Poncho. Moms can definitely use this bad boy to cover up anything they want. From baby spit up to going braless to “that-time-of-the-month-bloat” to un-ironed shirts. OR they can just look adorable - not hiding a darn thing!

For Grandma: 1. These Juliana Statement Earrings are interesting and they command attention. I love how, just like Grandma, they are anything but dull and boring. 2. Daydream Scarf This scarf will update any woman’s wardrobe, not just Grandma’s. Bonus: it’s very soft in color and materials. 3. Grandmas don’t need diaper bags or the Carry All Louis Vuittons because they earned the right to carry around small and sensibly chic purses. Get her a Braided Waverly Petite.

For Little Girls: 1. Mamas like their daughters to wear non-dangling earrings for as long as we can have that control. This Mini Pearl Trio is lovely. 2. Our little women have picked up on the trend to express themselves via graphic tees, this Love Graphic Tee is a win-win. Girls get to express themselves while putting a positive vibe in the air. 3. There are five patterns for Pouf which is a good thing because we want choices!

For Teens: 1. Teens can have multiple hats because they have multiple personalities. LOL. Add one of these to their collection: Chunky Knit Hat 2. There are two patterns for the Ava Backpack and I love both of them! Get one in a pattern for yourself and the other one for your teen. 3. There are many varieties of Ear Climbers on the Stella & Dot website. Be sure to find one that is perfect for your sweet teen.

For Your Sister: Before I give a blurb about these three items, let’s be clear: whether by birth or carefully selected friends, these sister-women deserve extra-special gifts. 1. There are two metals offered for the Interlocking Hoops. The earrings have a cool, updated twist to the standard hoops. Either metal will attract the light that will instantly sparkle up your sister’s beautiful face. 2. Oh yes, bring on the Maize Wrap Bracelet! It’s everything they’ll need to dress up their wrist. The perfect balance of interesting materials combined with the right amount of bling. Not too “granola-crunchy” and not too “look at me”. Balanced, just like your sister! 3. These women are worthy of a personalized gift even during this hectic holiday shopping time. Take a moment to choose from six styles of the Engravable Bar Necklace and then put a thoughtful message or a sweet monogram on it.

For Teachers: 1. Creativity Wishing Bracelet. Oh I love to give Stella & Dot bracelets to teachers! I’ve done this for years. My kids pick out bracelets for each of their teachers and that gives the gift a little more meaning than just bling. The bracelets (as well as all their jewelry) don’t need much wrapping because they already arrive in great packaging. In other words, winning! It’s a time saver as well. 2. This would have been a fabulous gift but as of this date, The Everything Pouch is sold out. Darn! 3. If you know for a fact that the teacher has pierced ears, then these Sparkle Studs are the best! They will become the go-to pair of earrings worn anytime, anywhere.

For Babysitter: 1. There are two metals offered for the On the Mark Necklace. They may seem simple, they may seem generic, but I think these necklaces have a classic meaning behind them. 2. Equally classic, the Solitaire Stud Pack. This is such a great thoughtful pinch because they’re small but they say a lot. 3. Yes, please! The Bellamy Clutch is camo meets functional. It’s also at a great price point. Instead of buying a bunch of little gifts that end up costing more than you wanted to spend - this clutch is a “one and done”.

Corporate Gifting: I believe Wendy (Stella & Dot) is referring to co-workers exchanging gifts or maybe they are referring to employees gifts? Either way, I’m glad they’re included on the gift guide. 1. There are two patterns for the Crush It Bag which makes for a hard decision. These bags are not too big and not too small - the size is just right. I’m sold on the shoe storage. 2. The always safe but unique, creative Gift Card is always a pleasure to give and receive. 3. I like gift sets and I’m sure this Whiplash Gift Set makes sense to most corporate people. For me, I’m attracted to the price point.

Wendy is always on social media with her Insta Stories, Facebook Live etc. She also loves to get her VIPs supporters involved in choices and her many events. On top of that, she does a lot of Give Aways. Inspiration is an understatement.

Here’s Wendy getting her complimentary make up session during the Beautycounter event I hosted with my friend Jan. I’m not sure how she has time, but she shows up to support me! I feel blessed.

Thoughtful Pinches for me. Wendy gave me this birthday card along with the book, “The Golden Rules of Blogging (& When to Break Them)”.

Wendy may not be as famous as Reese but it won’t be much longer. I’m grateful that she took the time to collaborate by sharing her gift guide with me so that I can pass it along. I owe her so much for putting the spark and idea in my head to get the gift guides going. Most of all, I’m very fortunate to call Wendy my famous friend. Thanks Wendy!!

Pinches,

Barb
