A couple of weeks ago, on Thank You Card Thursday, I learned something that I hadn’t really thought about when it came to being grateful.
I wish I was Jennifer Garner whenever she posts her pretend cooking show on Instagram. I have been experimenting with a different format for my thoughtful pinch approach and I just realized very late tonite that I don’t know how to stop these weekly posts from going to your email boxes. Sorry! Until I figure it out, here is the video I made today as I “pretend” cooked Irish Creme.
As I was making a list of odd little thoughtful things that I do for my family and my community, there was a little apprehension in sharing them. I decided that even though some of the things I do may rub some people the wrong way, sharing the list would be worth it.
Have you ever scrolled through IG or FB and find that the posts that have sayings cause you to pause? We stop to read them because we want to see if we can relate to it or if the meaning resonates.
Today is Valentine’s Day. Let the sweetness flow! Cookies, candy, chocolate, flowers, coffee drinks - all kinds of treats will be exchanged. This is my kind of holiday. Thoughtful pinches are little yet impactful gifts showing thoughtfulness and on Valentine’s Day, there’s a whole range of ways to show it. From free text messages to super fancy engagement rings; anything goes in the name of love!
Pardon the pun here but this post has been brewing in my head for many weeks. I thought about calling this post “Alcohol + Caffeine” but decided “Wine + Coffee” was more appealing. As it turns out, the post is about all four.
Last week my hub received two wonderful texts among the hundreds of business texts he receives every week. He asked me if he was dying because he couldn’t understand why these two friends would write him these texts.
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of puzzles? I’ll share what comes to my mind: TIME. As in, I never have the time to do any sort of puzzles.
Gosh I love learning about national days! I like finding out how thoughtful the founders of national days are and I like that most of the days enhance joy. I clicked on the link for National Houseplant Appreciation Day on the website Nationaldaycalendar.com because I was curious about the story behind this day. I am glad that I did because it confirmed a lot of what I already knew but opened my eyes to other tidbits of information.
When I was in my twenties, I would fantasize about being a mother and I always pictured myself pulling a roast out of the oven and feeding my hungry family. But in reality, I’m far from doing that. I have a hub who is rarely home for dinner and when he is home, a roast would not be something he’d eat. I have a vegetarian daughter and I have a son who will eat meat and potatoes but prefers the meat and the potatoes to be prepared by a fast food restaurant, not by his mother.
I have received texts, videos, emails, voicemails or cards giving me credit for influencing them for something positive that happened. Talk about making my heart swell up - wow! Those gestures are the most valuable forms of compliments ever.
I started this post on December 17, 2018 and I just found it in my Drafts box when I was looking thru all my Christmas posts. I thought now would be a good time to finish writing the post and change the title.
