There is a Christian saying, “God never gives us anything we can’t handle.” I believe this to be true and so whenever faced with adversity, I repeat that saying to remind me that I can get thru whatever it is that I am dealing with at the time.

People are either list makers or they’re not. Making a list brings peace of mind to some because when life is scattered, a list is comforting. If it’s on the list, it’s hard to forget. I always thought everyone made lists. However, I learned that some lists stress people out. To see the number of items on a list can overwhelm those who want to focus on the present moment.
I love the meme that is going around social media these days that says: “Anyone else feel like Halloween is unnecessary this year? I’ve been wearing a mask and eating candy for 7 months now, I don’t think I need a day dedicated to it anymore...” We all know what Halloween is about. Candy, candy, candy, right? Maybe costumes and parties too. But did you know that on October 31st our nation also celebrates National Knock Knock Joke Day? Isn’t that so cute? I mean, it’s appropriate. Knocking + Halloween. Although unfortunately, knocking on doors will be rare, if at all, this year. Boo!
Last Fall, I was crushed when the Thoughtful Pinch app didn’t take off the way I had imagined. Fortunately, I believe that things happen for a reason so I didn’t dwell on the set back for long. I threw a pity party for a few weeks but I eventually embraced the “failure”. I took a breather. I collected data. I grew; which is always a good thing.
I recently publicly admitted that I had been a thoughtless judger and so I figured I might as well be a beggar too. At this rate, I could star in my own episode of the show, Shameless. I’m not comfortable with this version of thoughtfulness which makes it all the more reason for me to share it.
I’ll never forget, over fifteen years ago, I learned what a “light guy” was. I was at a luncheon with other execs’ wives and the topic of hanging Christmas lights came up. These wives explained - since all of our hubs worked crazy hours 7 days a week during the football season, it was hard to get them to do anything around the house.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m very lucky to have the support of some pretty darn talented Pellicer cousins. It’s time to introduce you to my cousin Jay-Jay, the gift-giving goddess herself. She will be collaborating with me on Thoughtful Pinch and all I can say is, “Hallelujah!” She’s been a Pro* at giving gifts for at least 35 years and fortunately for me, I have been on the receiving end of awesome thoughtful pinches for ALL THOSE YEARS!
