All in Holidays/National Days
I was pleasantly surprised when I unloaded three bins of Halloween decor two weeks ago. I had completely forgotten that I had stored away all of the half-off items that I bought last year for the thoughtful pinches that I would give out this year! It was one of those times that I was so grateful that my past self thought about my future self. Lol.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m very lucky to have the support of some pretty darn talented Pellicer cousins. It’s time to introduce you to my cousin Jay-Jay, the gift-giving goddess herself. She will be collaborating with me on Thoughtful Pinch and all I can say is, “Hallelujah!” She’s been a Pro* at giving gifts for at least 35 years and fortunately for me, I have been on the receiving end of awesome thoughtful pinches for ALL THOSE YEARS!
We were on our second date having breakfast at a restaurant when I knew the hub could be "the one". We both ordered dry toast with a side of avocado with our meal. I thought I was the only one who ate toast that way! That was over twenty-two years ago! Nowadays restaurants charge an arm and leg for Avocado on Toast and it's the main dish - not a side. Well, it's worth the money. There's nothing like it.
Another July 4th is upon us and since I’m a sucker for all things red, white and blue, I bought some thoughtful pinches for my peeps.
For the second year in a row, my family will not be in the USA celebrating the day of Independence. However, before I left the country, I sent out the pinches to those family members who would be celebrating in America.
Teams usually know their game times for hockey tournaments, like other sports, for the first few games. Then the winners and losers of those games have to face each other which means it's a "wait and see" situation before going onto the next level. Eventually it turns into a "play in the championship game or go home" situation. This year, during the weekend of the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo, I hosted our annual neighborhood Cinco de Mayo party and my son was in a hockey tournament that consisted of 5 games and a possible championship game. A recap of the weekend went as follows: Game #1 /Screw up #1 - I messed up by not checking my son's bag to make sure he had everything. We didn't have his gray hockey socks so I got a text from coach not to forget them for the next game. We won the game.
When I was in college, I was able to afford hair products and hair cuts because I was a hair model. Model was a fancy label given to me by the salon so they could use my hair for temporary color experiments and use me as an example of how hair could look if you too, used their products.
Months ago I bought "1-Cup Prep Bowl" containers from Pampered Chef because they were on sale and because I like to support my cousin's business. I knew that, in some capacity, these would be given out as thoughtful pinches because these containers are little gems.
I'll always remember years ago when we lived on Hollywood Beach in Florida, we had to evacuate and took refuge inland. We hunkered down at my friend Paige's house and braced ourselves for the worst.
Raise your hand if you agree that National Potato Chip day is a holiday that is just as important as Thanksgiving. It's practically the same thing, right?
You're going to think I'm crazy but I almost declined an invitation to the Super Bowl. I'm not lying when I tell you that the very first thing that went thru my mind, as soon as one of my besties asked me to go with her to Super Bowl 52, was how would I ever find a thoughtful pinch to say thank you?
I'm always trying to find unique thoughtful pinches for Valentine's Day because I think this holiday is the ultimate thoughtful pinch day.
National Thank a Mail Carrier Day is always observed on February 4th but ironically, this year it falls on a Sunday. I hope mail carriers are NOT working on Sundays.
