Holiday Huddle

Holiday Huddle. I can’t take the credit for the birth of this concept - my friend Megan Hendrickson passed it along to me when we lived in MPLS. She questioned why professional sports teams in the Twin Cities haven’t come together for causes that would benefit the community? The question made me pause. Then she added, “We should get the Vikings and the Wild to do something together, “ because she had ties to the Wild.

10 Random Things I'm Grateful For Daily

I started going to another eyebrow gal because my favorite had to move out of state. When this new esthetician saw me again only two weeks after she first waxed my eyebrows, she said, “I feel like I just waxed your eyebrows.” I complained to her that I will be getting my eyebrows waxed every two weeks because they grow so quickly. To that she replied, “Hey, be grateful that you can grow hair because it’s easy to remove but hard to grow.” I realized just then that having fast growing brows is something random to be grateful for.

Out With the Old

The one year anniversary of living in our Denver home is coming up on July 31st. It has taken a full year but the house is finally getting decorated and it’s exciting to know that things will come together very soon. What sucks is now that the new furnishings are coming in, I’m faced with having to let go of stuff that we’ve had for awhile. You’d think I would be itching to get rid of things.

Ghosting

When we were in our twenties, my hub had a term that he would use when he was finished drinking at the bar and wanted to go home. He would say that he was going to the bathroom but slip away without saying goodbye to anyone. He called that move the “Casper.” He made like a friendly ghost and disappeared. In other words, he Caspered.

Coffee, Tea or Bubble?

While we were in Denver a few weeks ago, I found myself totally clueless about bubble tea. We had been looking for houses (my least favorite thing to do) and it was suggested that I reward myself by having a bubble tea. Yes, please! Due to Covid, we had to use the drive thru at the bubble tea shop named Mini Moo’s Tea Shop because the walk-in or dine-in options were not available. Looking at all the options on a billboard, while in a car, knowing that there are cars behind me, made me panic. I didn’t know what to order because I didn’t know what bubble tea was. Everyone else in my car knew exactly what to get. I ended up getting a watermelon flavored milk tea with bubbles.
