Pardon the pun here but this post has been brewing in my head for many weeks. I thought about calling this post “Alcohol + Caffeine” but decided “Wine + Coffee” was more appealing. As it turns out, the post is about all four.

Halloween is coming up and I’m always excited to count how many Halloweens ago that I started intermittent fasting. Yup, of all the days that I started this life style, it was on Halloween of 2018!! I’d be very surprised if I ever go back to any other way of living. It’s about time that I shared some of my insight because the experience that I had when I started intermittent fasting is pretty common.
I started going to another eyebrow gal because my favorite had to move out of state. When this new esthetician saw me again only two weeks after she first waxed my eyebrows, she said, “I feel like I just waxed your eyebrows.” I complained to her that I will be getting my eyebrows waxed every two weeks because they grow so quickly. To that she replied, “Hey, be grateful that you can grow hair because it’s easy to remove but hard to grow.” I realized just then that having fast growing brows is something random to be grateful for.

It must have been during my junior year in college that I learned the importance of drinking water. I wish I could say it was because I was interested in physiology and studied how the body works but it was because someone told me that drinking a lot of water helped prevent hangovers. Also at that time, I was participating in beauty pageants so I received the vanity advice: water helps keep the weight off and the skin smooth and blemish-free.
I’m not sure if my dad clued me in by saying, “Let me have my cup of coffee before you ask me anything.” or if my instincts after trial and error were spot on. Either way, it didn’t take me long to figure out that if I wanted something from my dad, I would have to wait until he had his first cup of coffee. At such a young age, I already knew that coffee has an effect on people.
