My son needed help with math so we enlisted the help of a tutor last summer. Well, not only did we find someone who cares a lot about my son and his education but she is truly a wonderfully thoughtful person. I think my son had about three weeks of tutoring when Karen, the tutor, came to greet us at the door. She told me that her chickens on her farm were laying eggs like crazy.
I was recently asked by verywell.com to help them spread some information about Lupus. Um, hello?! WHAT AN HONOR! And it could not have been more fitting for me to include their information in a post when I’m shouting out to the world that May 10th is World Lupus Day!
’m a big fan of watching videos that use the “time-lapse” feature. I think it’s so cool to see, for example, the US Bank Stadium being built in only a few minutes even though, once they broke ground, it took over 2.5 years to build.
I was running on a treadmill in my basement when I randomly remembered that I may have red and white popcorn containers made with lightweight cardboard. As soon as I was done running, I opened up the cabinet and sure enough there were twenty-one popcorn containers. Yippee! The colors fit my theme for Valentine’s Day.
Early on in my relationship with the hub, he said something that I will never forget. We were at a party or a bar - somewhere where drinking was taking place - and a group of women walked in. One woman was wearing an outfit that she shouldn’t have worn because she was spilling out of her top and skirt. The hub (boyfriend at the time) asked, “Who lied to her?” I was confused. What was he talking about? He clarified: When she was getting ready to go out for the night she must have asked her friends how she looked. Someone lied to her when they said that she looked good.
I just re-read my post about quotes and even though it was written in November 2016, I still feel the very same way about them. I see quotes everywhere and I just love to soak up every word. There are lessons to be learned and wisdom to be shared every day. Wise people say amazing things!
In my parenting class last week, we discussed our pre-teens and sexuality. Fun topic. About as fun as ripping off a hang nail - but it’s something you have to do at some point. I mentioned that when I see my daughter greet her girlfriends, they hug each other.
Ok, it’s the new year. I’m organized. I’m well-rested. I am ready to face 2019. As for resolutions, I made one and I also made three daily goals. Rather than getting into why I chose “Forgive” as my one and only NY resolution, I thought it was way more important to talk about what we do with all the gift cards we received over the holidays first. I mean, priorities.
I recently asked Jay-Jay to join Thoughtful Pinch as a contributor because she has great taste and she has a passion for finding the perfect gifts for the people on her gift list. While Jay-Jay was coming on board as a thoughtfulness curator, Thoughtful Pinch as a company, was starting to grow and has been picking up momentum. I asked her to be a manager, mostly keeping me from going insane.
