When I recently learned that there was such a day as National Pretzel Day, I searched my file of gift ideas to look for a certain pretzel company to help with this special occasion. My cousin Jay-Jay had sent us a “You Lucked Out” gift pack of pretzels this year for St. Patrick’s Day and it was such a bit hit. For National Pretzel Day, I am using the same company, Eastern Standard Provisions Company. A few days ago, I ordered some thoughtful pinches and I’m hoping that the pretzel gift packs arrive in time to celebrate!
Kids these days do not have any concept of encyclopedias. Why would they? We have Google. We have Siri on our iPhones so now we don’t even have to type inquiries into Google search anymore. And for the ultimate convenience, we have Alexa devices in our homes. Again, this allows us to ask our questions but cell phones do not have to be on our person to do so. We can just call out to Alexa and ask away. As long as we program Alexa to follow our commands, she is there to help us. It’s pretty amazing how far we’ve come from encyclopedias.
Do you ever get text messages that make you squint because you are trying to figure out what the sender is trying to say? Not just because of an auto correct mistake but because the text is cryptic.
I receive messages from three people that never EVER send a text without a typo or mistake. Even if the text only contains three words - at least one word out of the three is either autocorrected into a wrong word -"Happy Be-Latex Birthday", the wrong version of the word - "We're partying their" and/or misspelled - "I Loe u."
