Boo!

Since it was just Halloween yesterday, I had been seeing the word BOO everywhere for a month. Boo was a nickname that people used to call their boyfriend or girlfriend back in the 1990’s. In fact, Ghost Town DJ’s (a perfect Halloween-themed band name for this holiday) had a hit song titled, “My Boo” and still to this day, I can’t help but dance whenever I hear it. After that song came out, I would sign all my notes to my then boyfriend now hub, “Love - Your Boo”.

National Be Late for Something Day

For the past week, I have been on a natural high about my special national day - National Thoughtful Day. I didn’t think it could get any better than that but I was wrong. When I was on the Nationaldaycalendar.com website, I came across another national day that was so perfect for me. National Be Late for Something Day. Ha! How is it possible that two national days which describe me can be celebrated within weeks of each other?

National Raisin Day

Raisins. You either you love them or hate them. What I find interesting is that there are people who love grapes and wine but can’t stand raisins. It’s similar to those who will pour a cup of ketchup onto their fries but will get sick to their stomach if they see a tomato on their burger. I get it. It’s all about the texture and the look of the food items. Let’s face it, the site of a raisin is not the most attractive and the texture is…well…squishy.

National Fried Rice Day

According to my favorite resource, Nationaldaycalendar.com, National Fried Rice Day is celebrated on September 20th every year. Guess which company is behind this day. Of course, Benihana, the restaurant chain that uses 2,720,350 pounds of California grown rice each year. And why would Benihana want this day to be nationally celebrated? Well, to paraphrase Nationaldaycalendar.com: Benihana believes that high quality rice isn’t just another side dish. They believe that it is the foundational element of every meal.
