Over the last few weeks my blog topics have been either heavy or risky.  It’s time to write about some items that will make some thoughtful pinches for Father’s Day. If I was organized back in May I could have given some of these items to my hub for his birthday but since I wasn’t, he is getting them for Father’s Day. Typically his Father’s Day gifts are better than his birthday gifts, which reveals a lot about my organizational skills.

Found this at Paper Source. Smells great!

Look at this thing!  The name says it all.  One year my hub received some soap from his sis for Christmas and he loved it. So the following year I copied her pinch with a twist. I gave him soap on a rope but it was a bust. Fingers crossed that he’ll like this one.

Tea is from Whole Foods and mug is from Blick.

Lately the hub’s night time ritual includes a cup of tea, vitamins and some TV before he catches some zzz’s. We’ve tried a few different night time teas but this is one of our faves. I am going to try to take the kids to one of those paint your own ceramic places to make him a mug or two to complete the thoughtful pinch.  If we run out of time, I’ll have this tin mug with magnet letters as a back up.

I also found this book at Paper Source.  I bought it thinking the words my kids choose when they are this age will be so precious and hopefully he will appreciate the effort. We don’t tell him why we love him enough and this book will let him know 50 different ways.  Each kid chose 25 pages and I can’t wait to read what they wrote in the blanks.

Sorry I am blanking on where I picked this up but I'm pretty sure Amazon will have it.

I found this book after I bought the “What I love About Dad” book.  I couldn’t resist getting another book for him because I love the quotes.  I'm hope he can read this with our kids before they get tucked in for the night. Potentially, each page could be a conversation that he can have with them.

My son calls my hub Pops. My daughter writes stories about super heroes and he's my QB. Great prices for these cards.

I’m not sure why Paper Source had these cards marked down for Father’s Day because I bought them in May but they are super fitting for our family.

Nowadays you can find these at Target starting at $20.

The hub's work switched from a Windows phone to an iPhone FINALLY.  Usually he runs around the lakes with his phone in his hand but this pinch will make it easier to listen to his pandora tunes. BTW, the first time I gave him one of these phone holders was way back when he had a Blackberry and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t cheap. My kids don't even know what a Blackberry is.

Of course I found these on Amazon.

Back in May, after my hub’s birthday, I was grabbing a thoughtful pinch for my cousin so I ordered two from Amazon.  We are not “tech” people but I think he’ll get a kick out of this.  It prints any picture from his devices for presto gratification.  Sign of the times. Just like Polaroid, my family is trying to stay current.

My father-in-law is coming for his annual visit and I can’t wait to whip out this book. We gave it to him back in 2012 and every year he fills out a couple pages with my daughter. It is so precious.  We are also giving him his annual Viking apparel, adding some new sunglasses and a nice dinner.

Gosh, I’ve tried so hard to keep this post very light; focusing only on thoughtful pinches.  However, my heart is heavy because I keep thinking of the five Weidmeier kids who will miss their dad this Father’s Day. Every year it will be a challenge and I’m sad that these kids, like many of us who have lost our dads, will have to face each Father’s Day from now on without him. Bryan Weidmeier left us on June 7th and it was way too soon.  May he rest in peace.

Bryan with his awesome wife Mary. From left to right Lauren worked for the Kings when they won 2 Stanley cups now works for the LA Rams, Matt is in VA working for Lockheed Martin, Dani recently worked for the Boston Bruins but she's relocating to FL soon,  John interns for the Dolphins hoping to get a permanent job in the NFL and Tori is stationed in Japan for the Navy flight training other countries. I think its safe to say that Bryan was proud father.
