Packer fans will always have an easy time picking out something to wear on St. Patrick’s Day. In my closet I have one green shirt and one pair of green jeans, which I really shouldn’t have since I am a Vikings fan, but I have alternately worn them on St. Patrick’s Day for 5+ years in a row.  When I saw these scarfs at The Dollar Tree, I knew the buck investment could go a long way and I would still be able to keep my purple allegiance to my team - also known as the NFC North Division Champs. Oh I’m sorry, was I bragging? Yes I was!

Even though it’s completely juvenile, I will wear my new scarf and my new socks and go around pinching anyone that’s not wearing green on Thursday, March 17th. I don’t know for sure who started that tradition but its really fun - unless you forget to wear green, then it sucks.

Speaking of pinches, last year I got such a great response when I posted my very first thoughtful pinch about lottery tickets. Here’s hoping that some of you will continue the tradition. And if you’re like me and know that you will give certain things as a tradition every year, (i.e. giving lottery tickets every St. Pat’s Day), a little bit of planning ahead can save you money and time. When Tiny Prints had their 40% off anything birthday sale, I was fully ready to take advantage.  As “luck” should have it, the only St. Patrick’s Day themed cards they had were post card party invitations. But “lucky” me, I was able to edit, customize and order thirty of them which I received last week with plenty of time to spare.  After the discount, it was cheaper than if I took card stock, stickers, little plastic baggies and gold pens to hand make each one. Picture me doing an Irish jig right now because I saved time and money.

Tiny Prints allowed me to customize all the print under the  "Let's Celebrate St. Patrick's Day!" text.  Shhh! I think the kids think its a glass of green milk.  I picked up a bag of 30 gold coins that say "Four leaf clover for good luck" on one side and a shamrock on the other - Dollar Tree - $1. Super bummed that I can't find $1 lottery tickets with a good luck theme!! So I settled for these. I used Scotch Removable Mounting Putty to adhere the ticket to the side where you would normally write a message on the postcard and used the same putty to stick the gold coin where the stamp would go. Finishing the T houghtful Pinch  with a little message on the address lines.

We send cards for every holiday to our families back in CA, my cousins in Georgia (Go Dawgs!), one to NC and yes, even a card to a couple of Packer fans in GB. I wish I could send my family $1 lottery tickets but redeeming them is more work than it’s worth.  So they will get these cards with little messages inside instead. Most of the time I buy holiday cards a month in advance and most of the time everyone gets them the day after the holiday because I never send them on time.

Guess who's going to receive their card on time. Yup, our Green Bay family members! Come on, we all know Packer fans DO NOT need any more luck!
